Azee Structure
Azee-250 Tablets:

Azee Indications
Azee is indicated in the treatment of:
Lower respiratory tract infections:
- Streptococcus pneumoniae;
- Moraxella catarrhalis;
- Community acquired pneumonias;
- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease;
- Bronchitis due to Haemophilus influenzae;
- Acute bacterial exacerbations of chronic bronchitis;
Upper respiratory tract infections (including ear, nose and throat infections):
- Otitis media;
- Pharyngitis;
- Sinusitis;
- Tonsillitis;
Genitourinary tract infections (including sexually transmitted diseases):
- C trachomatis;
- Cervicitis;
- Cervico-vaginitis;
- Chlamydial conjunctivitis;
- Prostatitis;
- Salpingitis due to N gonorrhoeae;
- Urethritis;
Skin and skin structure infections:
- Carbuncles;
- Cellulitis;

Azee Dosage
Mild to moderate lower respiratory tract infections, upper respiratory tract infections and uncomplicated skin and soft
tissue infections:
Adults:
500 mg as a single dose on the first day followed by 250 mg once daily on days 2 to 5 for a total dose of 1.5 g or 500 mg
once daily for 3 days.
Children under 12 years:
The usual dose for children is 10 mg/kg body weight orally, once a day for 3 days. Alternatively after a 10 mg/kg body weight
of oral loading dose on the first day, the therapy can be continued at a dose of 5 mg/kg body weight on four subsequent days.
The drug is not recommended for use in infants below six months of age.
Sexually transmitted diseases:
- Syphilis: 1 gm o.d. for 5 days or 500 mg o.d. for 10 days;
- Non-gonococcal urethritis and cervicitis due to C. trachomatis - 1 gm as a stat dose;
- Gonorrhoea: 2 gm as a stat dose;
- Chancroid: 1 gm as a stat dose;
Azee Contraindications
Azee is contraindicated in patients with a history of allergic reactions to Azithromycin or any other macrolide
antibiotics.
